From the vendor's site: Kling AI is Kuaishou's text-to-video and image-to-video platform, and one of the two Chinese video models most often pitched as a Sora alternative. It ships image-to-video, start-and-end frame control, lip sync and camera moves, with a free tier that resets daily.
What it is
Kling AI takes a text prompt, or a prompt plus a still image, and renders a short video clip. The image-to-video mode is the draw: upload a product shot or a frame from an earlier clip and Kling animates it while keeping the subject recognisable. Camera-move presets (pan, zoom, orbit) are attached to clips directly in the editor.
Pricing
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 66 credits per day, standard queue, watermark |
| Standard | about $10/mo | 660 credits per month, no watermark |
| Pro | about $37/mo | 3,000 credits, faster queue |
| Premier | about $92/mo | 8,000 credits, top queue priority |
A 5s standard clip costs roughly 10 credits, so the free allowance covers a handful of generations a day.
Verdict
The most complete of the Chinese video generators. Start on the free tier, and only move to a paid plan once you know which clip lengths and resolutions you actually use.
FAQ
Is Kling AI free?
Yes. There is a free tier with a daily credit allowance that resets every day and does not ask for a card. It covers a few short clips a day; longer or higher-resolution generations cost more credits, so heavier use needs a paid plan.
Do free Kling videos have a watermark?
Yes — free-tier exports carry a watermark. Paid plans remove it.
Can I use Kling AI outside of China?
Yes. It runs an English-language site with overseas account support, plus iOS and Android apps, so you do not need a Chinese phone number to sign up.
How long can a Kling clip be?
Generations are short — typically 5 or 10 seconds each — and the editor is used to stitch several together into a longer sequence.
Is Kling better than Sora?
It is one of the Chinese video models most often pitched as a Sora alternative, and the most complete of the ones we list. Which is better depends on the shot: for image-driven clips that have to keep the subject recognisable, Kling is a serious option.
