- Hosted site can be slower than Hailuo at peak times.
From the vendor's site: Wan (Tongyi Wanxiang) is Alibaba's video generation family. The Wan models are partly released as open weights, which made them a favourite for self-hosting, while wan.video offers the hosted text-to-video and image-to-video experience in English for overseas users.
What it is
Wan generates video from text prompts or still images. Alibaba publishes much of the model family openly, so the same results can be reproduced locally by users with the hardware for it, while wan.video gives everyone else a hosted English-language way in.

Verdict
Pick Wan for cinematic prompts and for its open-weight story. For quick social clips, Hailuo is faster; for control, Kling.
